Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)


The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides part-time community service training positions to low-income persons age 55 and older. Program participants work an average of 20 hours per week, are paid at least the Federal minimum wage, and are employed in a wide variety of community service activities.

In order to qualify for this program, you must be

  • 55 years of age or older, and
  • Unemployed

In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:

*For households with more than eight people, add $6,725 per additional person. Always check with the appropriate managing agency to ensure the most accurate guidelines.
