A producer who is eligible to obtain a loan, but who agrees to forgo the loan, may obtain an LDP. The LDP rate equals the amount by which the applicable loan rate where the commodity is stored exceeds the alternative loan repayment rate for the respective commodity. The LDP equals the LDP rate times the quantity of the commodity for which the LDP is requested at USDA/FSA.

To be eligible for this benefit program, an applicant must be a producer who is eligible to obtain a loan, but who agrees to forgo the loan.

An eligible producer must meet the following requirements before submitting their applications:

  • Acreage report is filed showing a share in crop on which MAL/LDP is requested
  • AD-1026 completed and in compliance in accordance with Sodbuster/Swamp buster provisions
  • Applicable CCC-902 must be completed
  • CCC-941 completed and filed
