New Personalized Features on Benefits.gov

This month, we launched a fresh, new homepage design which included new features to personalize your experience on Benefits.gov.

So, what’s new? With our users in mind, we added new technology to help you find what you are looking for—fast.

  • Popular Benefits near your location
Located on the homepage, this feature generates a list of popular benefits by state based on your location. You can see a list of the five most popular benefits in your state or select another state, and you can hover over the benefits in the list to see a general program description along with additional information. From there, you can click on the benefit to view the full Benefit Details page.
  • Benefit Recommendations
This new feature is found on the ‘Benefit Details’ pages. When you are viewing a benefit program on our site, you will see a new column on the right side of the page that displays two lists: ‘People Who Viewed This Benefit Also Viewed’ and ‘Similar Benefits’. These lists recommend benefits similar or relevant to the one you are currently viewing.

These personalization features are the newest addition to a long line of Benefits.gov innovations over the past 14 years. We will continue responding to your feedback to improve our site and provide you with the best experience and most relevant benefit information.

We encourage you to explore our homepage to check out our new features. You can also take the Benefit Finder questionnaire to find the benefits you may be eligible to receive.  For more benefit news and information, check out our interactive Compass eNewsletter.  Benefits.gov wants you to stay connected -- follow us on Twitter, ‘Like’ us on Facebook, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for timely updates.
