Happy Fourth of July!
On Saturday, the nation will celebrate its 239th birthday! Once a year, people have the chance to dress in red, white, and blue; watch fireworks; eat yummy summer foods; and celebrate American independence from Great Britain. July Fourth is a wonderful occasion, and this year, Benefits.gov would like to share some benefit information to commemorate this national holiday.

Did you know that Benefits.gov's mission is to provide benefit information to the American public? The Fourth of July represents so many American ideals, like fairness and equality of opportunity. Benefits.gov tries to uphold these ideals by making sure benefit information is readily available to all Americans. To date, our site has information on over 1,200 government benefits from across 17 different federal agencies.

Each program page includes the benefit's purpose and provides application and eligibility criteria. You will also find external resources that can help guide you to more information on a particular benefit of your interest. Benefits.gov encourages you to use the Benefit Finder questionnaire to help you identify what benefits you may be eligible to receive. Helpful tip: you can access the Benefit Finder from any computer or mobile device. No matter how you choose to visit the site, the Benefit Finder remains an anonymous way to search for benefits based on your specific needs. After answering questions in the Benefit Finder on your smartphone or tablet, you can then browse through your benefit results to learn more about the benefits that may be right for you. To help guide your search further, you can look for benefits by state, category, or federal agency.

You can also stay connected to Benefits.gov by subscribing to the quarterly Compass, eNewsletter and news articles to receive benefit information, news and helpful tips to your inbox. We also have Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts that we encourage you to follow!

Benefits.gov wishes you a happy Fourth of July!
