According to the Environmental Protection Agency, by the year 2100, damages caused by flooding in the United States will increased by $750 million annually. Benefits.gov can lead you to hundreds of disaster relief programs to support your recovery from a major disaster. Below are just a couple flood relief programs for homeowners and farmers. 

National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)

Managed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the National Flood Insurance Program enables homeowners, business owners, and renters in participating communities to purchase federally backed flood insurance. This insurance helps cover repairs for flood damage to buildings and contents. For more information and FAQ answers, visit FEMA's National Flood Insurance Page

Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program

The Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP), managed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, provides financial assistance to producers of non-insurable crops when low yields, loss of inventory, or prevented planting occur due to a natural disaster. NAP provides coverage equal to 50% of the approved yield and 55% of the average market price. 

Home and Property Disaster Loans

Through Home and Property Disaster Loans, the Small Business Administration provides financial assistance to homeowners and renters located in a declared disaster area. Financial assistance in available in the form of low-interest, long-term loans for losses that are not fully covered by insurance.
