The Jobs for Veterans State Grants Program (JVSG) helps veterans find good jobs by providing employment services at American Job Centers and other locations through funding for Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) specialists and Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER) staff. DVOPs and LVERs are state employees who provide employment services to the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam.

DVOP specialists provide intensive services to meet the employment needs of disabled veterans and other eligible veterans, with the maximum emphasis directed toward serving those who are economically or educationally disadvantaged, including homeless veterans, and veterans with barriers to employment.

LVER conduct outreach to employers and engage in advocacy efforts with hiring executives to increase employment opportunities for veterans and encourage the hiring of veterans.
