The Transition Incentive Program (TIP) provides annual payments for an additional two years beyond the expiration of a Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) contract to participants who sell their land, or lease it long-term, to a beginning, veteran, or socially disadvantaged farmer or rancher.

The Transition Incentive Program (TIP) provides annual payments for an additional two years beyond the expiration of a Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) contract to participants who sell their land, or lease it long-term, to a beginning, veteran, or socially disadvantaged farmer or rancher.

To be eligible for TIP, an owner must be a retired or retiring farmer or rancher on land enrolled in an expiring CRP contract. The owner must agree to sell, or agree to lease long-term the land enrolled in an expiring CRP contract to a beginning, veteran, or socially disadvantaged farmer or rancher.

To enroll land in CRP TIP, contact the Farm Service Agency (FSA) office nearest you.

FSA has developed a website to provide a tool to connect retired or retiring land owners or operators with beginning or socially disadvantaged farmers or ranchers who are interested in the Transition Incentives Program. For more information, please visit FSA's TIP Net.
