The Wyoming Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) provides funds to the States to assist with the weatherization of the homes of low-income elderly and disabled adults and families. Applicants must meet low-income eligibility guidelines based on established Federal poverty guidelines. Activities include: insulation, storm windows, caulking, and other related activities to reduce home energy costs and increase home energy efficiency.

To be eligible for this benefit program, you must be a resident of Wyoming. Preference may be given to:

  • People over 60 years of age
  • Families with one or more members with a disability
  • Families with children (in most states)

In order to qualify, you must also have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below 60 percent of the State Median Income:

Under DOE guidelines, you are automatically eligible to receive weatherization assistance if you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF).
