The Kentucky Medical Program is intended to provide medical and health-related assistance to low-income individuals and families who have no medical insurance or have inadequate medical insurance. Generally, the program serves: persons aged 65 or older; blind or permanently disabled persons; adults from 19-65; children up to age 19, and pregnant women.

To be eligible for Kentucky Medicaid, you must be a resident of the state of Kentucky, a U.S. national, citizen, permanent resident, or legal alien, in need of health care/insurance assistance, whose financial situation would be characterized as low income or very low income. You must also be one of the following:

  • Pregnant, or
  • Be responsible for a child 18 years of age or younger, or
  • Have a disability or a family member in your household with a disability.

In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:
