Program Description

The Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP) helps unemployed Veterans who are between 35 and 60 prepare for certain high demand occupations. VRAP will provide eligible Veterans up to 12 months of assistance to pay for training pursued at a community college or technical school towards an associate degree, non-college degree, or certificate.

General Program Requirements

In order to qualify for this program, you must be: Participants must also be enrolled in a program of education approved for VA benefits that is offered by a community college or technical school (search for an approved program here). The program must lead to an associate degree, non-college degree or a certificate. The program must also train the Veteran for a high demand occupation.

Application Process

VA is no longer accepting applications for VRAP. Those currently eligible to receive VRAP payments may do so through March 2014 or until receiving twelve months of benefits. Please visit:
