Program DescriptionThe Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) provides both technical assistance and up to 75 percent cost-share assistance to establish and improve fish and wildlife habitat on private agricultural land, nonindustrial private forestland, and Indian land. WHIP agreements generally last from 5 to 10 years from the date the agreement is signed. Publicland is ineligible for WHIP.
General Program RequirementsIn order to qualify for this benefit program, you must own or control land that may be restorable and suitable for wildlife.
