Program DescriptionThe Delaware Energy Assistance Program (DEAP) is a Federally funded program for low-income families that need help meeting their home energy costs. The Division of State Service Centers (DSSC) administers this program on a contractual basis with Catholic Charities, Inc. The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), under the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), provides funds. DEAP services provide assistance to income-eligible families to help them meet their home energy needs.
General Program RequirementsIn order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Delaware and you must need financial assistance for home energy costs.
A person who participates or has family members who participate in certain other benefit programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or certain needs-tested Veterans benefits may be automatically eligible.
